NEW Collection: Abstract Landscapes

You know it's been a good day when you end work with green paint in your hair!

I've been spending the month of July busy working on a new collection of paintings. After spending much of May and June in France, I can't seem to get earth tones and pastoral, rural landscapes off my mind... Rich greens and dusty blues make my heart feel light and seeking to capture the vibrancy, romance, movement and tranquility of the countryside excites me.

Here's a preview of some of the pieces that have been filling up the walls of my studio. The layering of acrylic washes, application of pastel and free, gestural marks are my favorite elements of the large 36x36 piece below.

This next piece, 24x24, takes a more non-objective approach to rendering the feel of a landscape. I've enjoyed painting in both styles and am interested to see where the next few pieces will take me.
